Faster! : Trailer

Jasper (Jenny Strubin, SAG) is a female Chicago bike messenger in a race not only against the clock, but in battle with the hostile city, its raging drivers, its surly security guards, and her tough dispatcher. Busting her ass to make ends meet, Jasper finds herself pulling scams that she feels increasingly uncomfortable with. Frustrated, brazen, and ballsy - but also funny, intelligent and vulnerable - Jasper begs us to root for her even when her actions are less than admirable.

Faster! made its world premiere at the 54th British Film Institute’s London Film Festival in October 2010 and its US premiere at the 46th Chicago International Film Festival, also in October 2010, where it also played in the Educational Screenings for Chicago Public High School students. It has won two Weisman Awards, a Production Fund Award, and was a Princess Grace Award nominee.

Faster! was recently part of the May 2012 Interfilm Berlin Shorts Attack program.
The Alley Cat, a feature film : Teaser (2012)
Production: July 2012

The events of The Alley Cat take place during a single night. Jasper, the main character, is the same character from the short film Faster! in a completely new set of circumstances. We meet Jasper and her messenger friends during an alley cat race - an alcohol-fueled competition that is put on by bike messengers for bike messengers in alleys and deserted downtown streets in the middle of the night. Messengers from different companies compete for bragging rights about who is fastest, most agile, and the best messenger, through a series of events. There is a bike sprint, a track stand "race" in which the cyclists must stand in their pedals without moving and without falling over for as long as possible, and finally a delivery simulation.
Refuge : Trailer
Grant is trapped with his conscious on the long, lonely drive across the American Midwest. As the endless road stretches on, he is confronted by those he has loved and those he has hurt. REFUGE is a metaphysical journey to truth, quickly turning the open road into a claustrophobic asylum of haunting self-examination.

Refuge held its world premiere at the 46th Chicago International Film Festival.  It is currently distributed via Shorts International and has been broadcast internationally on the Dish Network, AT&T U-Verse and DirecT has played on the Shorts HD Network throughout 2011.

The Assassination of Chicago's Mayor : Trailer
World Premiere at 2012 Hollyshorts Film Festival

A newspaper peddler named Patrick Prendergast has delusions of greatness. Evidently slighted by the mayor, this self-anointed messenger prepares for a glorious rise from ignored lobbyist to influential icon. Prendgerast sees himself as a martyr, serving God with a noble purpose. The reality is far different.

The Assassination of Chicago's Mayor is a historical account of late 19th century Chicago full of rhetoric that feels eerily contemporary. Prendergast follows his brand of ideological righteousness to its hateful end, an end where justice and revenge are one in the same.
